I've always promised myself that if I have a public social media account or blog, I wanted it to benefit those that visit and read it. Mental health is not an exception regardless of what topics I cover on my blog. I've personally dealt with anxiety and depression and I know so many people that have or are currently struggling with any mental health issues right now. I want you to know that YOU are not alone and you are awesome. Below, I've provided some resources for you and/or your loved ones. Please hug those around you, ask how they're feeling/doing, lend an ear for them to talk it out. You never know when someone is really going through dark times. Mental illness is real and it needs to be talked about more.
There are treatments for all mental illness out there, but we need to make sure those affected do have access to care and treatment. You can visit adaa.org/finding-help/treatment/low-cost-treatment to see what options may be available for you. I am also open to input on this topic so that I can share the info with everyone on here. If you know of other resources, please do let me know so I can inform everyone! :) Here's another website that you might find helpful: www.mentalhealth.gov/get-help/immediate-help .
If you're personally struggling with dark times, please reach out to a professional for help. When my life flipped upside down years ago, I sunk into depression. I did not realize how reaching out for help could change everything for me. It pulled me out of that dark hole and I never look back now. I am in a great place right now. You can have that as well, but you have to reach out to a professional. If you feel like you are not getting the right kind of help that should be tailored to you and your needs, there are other doctors out there. If you know someone struggling and think their safety is in danger, please dial 9-1-1 or the ER to get help immediately.

Let's have an open discussion about mental health issues in the comments below! May is Mental Health Awareness month and I would love for us all to discuss Mental Health and remove that stigma associated with it.
PS- In case you didn't know, you are very important in this world!
